Why I Created The Legacy Planner
When my dad passed away, I thought we’d be okay.
He had life insurance, but I quickly realized we weren’t prepared at all.
In the middle of our grief, I had to become a detective, an organizer, and a decision-maker. There were questions no one had answers to, papers we couldn’t find, and critical decisions we were in no state to make. The emotional and mental strain was overwhelming.
Honestly? It broke me.
I kept wondering, Why didn’t anyone prepare us for this? The truth is, these are the conversations we’re never taught to have. That raw, painful experience became my mission.
The Legacy Planner exists because my family lived through the chaos I want to spare yours., as I was.

SHARAE MAREE
Sharae Maree is passionate about simplicity and her goal is to teach individuals how to make sense of their life insurance and educate their beneficiaries.
As the President of Coverage Clarity Consulting, she leverages over a decade of expertise in handling life insurance claims to provide clarity for her clients about their life insurance policy.
During her years as a life insurance analyst, she was the primary contact for over 60 plan sponsors. Her experience spans managing claims for notable clients like Aetna, The Marriott, Bank of America, The State of Connecticut, General Dynamics, Procter & Gamble, NYPD and more. Sharae's firsthand observations revealed a troubling trend: nearly 80% of all claims are denied or delayed, primarily due to a lack of proper education and understanding of policy details.
Driven by a commitment to change this narrative, her mission is to equip policyholders, their families and beneficiaries with the crucial knowledge needed to navigate their policies effectively. Her approach also ensures beneficiaries are well-prepared to avoid common pitfalls and secure the insurance payouts intended by policyholders, giving peace of mind and financial security when it's most needed.
